Description:

Problem
A decrease in tourist foot traffic in the Nelson Bay CBD needed to increase. The council wanted to install festoon lights across a pedestrian laneway to entice tourists to walk towards the local Central Business District. Previous street lighting was not adequate to show visitors there was safe access via Yaccaba Street.

Process
The client had existing aluminium smart light poles that they wanted us to use to string the festoon lights across. Blackfrog devised a safe way to use smart pole mounting hardware to attach the Fiesta50 solar festoon lights to marine grade stainless steel cable. A scissor lift was used to mount the solar panels and festoon cables while the local council provided traffic control.

Solution
Over the two days install, a team of two Blackfrog installers travelled from Brisbane to complete the project. Blackfrog Solar aimed to provide a council compliant, safe, commercial grade and cost-effective solution for the plans devised by the Port Stephens LGA. This project was one of the first Installs of the Fiesta50 solar festoon lights manufactured, supplied and installed by Blackfrog Solar. This project was completed without any issues due to the professionalism and dedication of the Blackfrog Solar team.
